Shipping Policy

1. Where We Ship & Regulatory Restrictions

 

Java Lava (via the AccelPay retailer network) ships to residential and commercial addresses within the Continental United States, specifically to those states where direct-to-consumer alcohol shipment is permitted by law.

  • P.O. Boxes / APO / FPO: Due to federal regulations requiring an adult signature for alcohol delivery, we cannot ship to P.O. Boxes, APO/FPO addresses, or freight forwarders.

  • Restricted States: Alcohol laws vary by state. If our third-party retail partners cannot legally ship to your specific zip code, you will be notified at checkout, and the transaction will not be processed.

 

2. Title and Ownership

 

To comply with the three-tier system of alcohol distribution:

  • Transfer of Title: Title to, and ownership of, all alcoholic beverages passes from the licensed retailer to you (the purchaser) at the licensed retailer’s warehouse/premises.

  • Your Agent: By placing an order, you authorize the licensed retailer to act on your behalf to engage a common carrier (such as UPS or GLS) to deliver your order.

 

3. Fulfillment & Delivery Timelines

 

Please note that these timelines are estimates and not guarantees.

  • Processing Time: Orders are generally processed and packed within 3-5 business days of order confirmation.

  • Transit Time: Once picked up by the carrier, standard ground delivery typically takes another 3-8 business days, depending on the destination distance from the retailer’s warehouse.

  • Split Shipments: If your order contains both Alcohol and Non-Alcohol Merchandise (e.g., apparel, glassware, accessories), these items will be fulfilled from separate locations.

    • You will receive separate tracking numbers for each shipment.

    • Merchandise does not require an adult signature, whereas alcohol does.

 

4. Carrier & Signature Requirements (Strictly Enforced)

 

  • Carriers: Your alcohol order is shipped by a third-party partner within the AccelPay network using licensed carriers (e.g., GLS, UPS).

  • Adult Signature Required (21+):

    • It is a federal requirement that a person aged 21 years or older must be present to sign for the delivery.

    • The carrier cannot and will not leave the package at the door, on a porch, or with a neighbor who is not 21+.

    • The carrier may require a valid government-issued ID to verify age upon delivery.

    • Carriers reserve the right to refuse delivery to anyone who appears intoxicated.

 

5. Delivery Attempts & Missed Deliveries

 

Our carriers will make up to three (3) attempts to deliver the package to the intended recipient.

  • Tracking: We strongly recommend monitoring your tracking number to ensure an adult is home on the day of delivery.

  • Address Changes: Once an order has shipped, we cannot guarantee that an address change request can be processed. If a carrier allows a re-route, additional fees may apply.

 

6. Undeliverable Packages & Fee Schedule

 

If a package is returned to the retailer after three failed delivery attempts, or due to an incorrect address provided by the customer, the order will be deemed "Undeliverable."

The following fees apply to Undeliverable packages:

  1. Option A: Reshipment

    • If you request the package be reshipped, a flat fee of $40.00 will be charged. This covers the return shipping cost charged by the carrier plus the cost of the new shipment.

  2. Option B: Refund

    • If you prefer a refund instead of reshipment, you will be refunded the cost of the product minus a $25.00 Undeliverable Package Fee.

    • Original Shipping Costs: The original shipping fees paid at checkout are non-refundable.

 

7. Weather and Quality Control

 

High heat or extreme cold can damage alcohol during transit.

  • Weather Holds: In the event of extreme weather conditions, the licensed retailer reserves the right to delay the shipment of your order until conditions improve to ensure product quality. We will not be liable for damages caused by weather if you request shipment despite a weather hold warning.

 

8. Damaged or Incorrect Orders

 

Please inspect your package immediately upon delivery.

  • Reporting: If your product arrives damaged, leaking, or if you received the wrong item, please contact support@accelpay.io within 48 hours of delivery.

  • Evidence: Please retain the original packaging and provide photos of the damage/breakage to facilitate a replacement or refund claim.
